April Construction Update
15 April, 2014
Our construction crews at the Summit are busy working on the final stages of our Summit Lodge. Dry walling and painting are done. Floors are in. Kitchen equipment is installed and being tested. Washrooms are almost done. All our water and sprinkler systems are just getting final touches. In short, we are getting very close!

With the beautiful spring weather that we’ve had for the past few weeks we were finally able to re-open the backcountry access road. Most of the kitchen equipment had to be transported to the top by truck. The snow hopefully will be going pretty quickly now and we can start the final work on the Summit landscaping as well.

We have also finished installing the new aluminum/glass railings for the Summit Lodge Viewing Deck. It has really finished the look for the whole building and by going to the aluminum/glass panels, it leaves the views pretty much uninterrupted.

The Summit weather station has been assembled and is installed on top of the Summit Lodge. Our Summit webcam has also been installed, and will be visible to the public via our website soon!

At Basecamp, we have finished grading the lot and have started pouring concrete. Landscaping services surrounding our Basecamp Café & retail shop have started, and we have constructed the children’s play area structure!

All of our directional and interpretive signs are currently being built by Century Signs, and are being installed as they arrive on-site. We have also moved some of our team to the Basecamp offices, and hope to have our Guest Services desk open to the public April 22nd to start processing passes! Stay tuned to our Facebook page and website for more details on that as we move forward.

It is a very exciting time for the team and we look forward to sharing the Sea to Sky Gondola experience with you soon!
