Kick off your summer with The Sea to Sky Gondola!

17 June, 2014

Welcome the longest day of the year on the grounds of The Sea to Sky Gondola.

Since it’s opening last month, the new attraction has welcomed thousands of visitors. It’s just the beginning as many more people from all ages and fitness levels are invited to take part in the exciting summer solstice party, June 21st from 9am-10pm.

The first activity will start at 9:30am with the first ever trail-running event on the grounds, the Skyline Ridge Run. Runners can choose between a 10km or 21km distance course. For more information please CLICK HERE.

A talented local music line-up will entertain visitors all day. Bands like, CamSalay, LOVEcoast, The River and The Road and many others. There will be interpretive family hikes, arts & crafts presented by Forager's School of Nature, an adventure photo exhibit showcasing the construction of The Sea to Sky Gondola by award-winning local photographer Paul Bride. The celebration will continue into the evening with a pre-registered sun salutation and sunset yoga, fireside chats and night summer beats. Local DJ Sheila will kick off the sunset music series, which will take place at the Gondola summit every Friday night in July and August from 6-9pm.

Summer programming at the Sea to Sky Gondola is fun for everyone, starting with the popular sunset dining at the Summit Lodge every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 5pm-9pm. It has everyone talking with its exceptional fresh and local 3-course menu for only $19.95. The Gondola's barbecue menu will be introduced during The Summer Solstice Celebration weekend. The Summit viewing deck may just be the best place in the region to enjoy a meal or beverage with your friends and family. The active types can enjoy a walk on the Spirit and Panorama Trails and Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge. The more adventurous can hike six fantastic backcountry trails. As snow melts trails are opening up every week. To read more about the trails, CLICK HERE.
