Step Into Adventure
This season, we are excited to introduce a new boardwalk to the Al's Habrich trail. This newly constructed boardwalk stretches approximately 0.5 kilometers from Neverland Lake and is designed to navigate a notably challenging boggy section of the trail.
The new elevated walkway offers a more stable and comfortable path for hikers while also helping to protect the surrounding environment by reducing the impact of foot traffic on the boggy area.
Al’s Habrich Trail is our flagship backcountry hiking trail and offers epic views of Howe Sound and Sky Pilot. This trail weaves through old-growth forest, ancient glacial formations, creeks, and waterfalls and offers a half to full-day excursion for those seeking a little more from their hike. Dotted with granite outcroppings, sub-alpine meadows and the picturesque Neverland Lake, Al’s Habrich Trail is not to be missed.
Summer access is via the Backcountry Access Road, taking an uphill left road 100m past the Backyard Plaza map board. Follow the marked signs to the start of Al’s Habrich Trail and cross Olesen Creek. The trail climbs steeply and weaves its way around ancient forest and granite slabs to Neverland Lake.
This season, we have added a boardwalk located approximately 0.5 kilometers from Neverland Lake to navigate a particularly challenging boggy section. Additionally, we have blazed an alternate route which connects the current end of the marked trail to the lower ridge to provide a loop return.
