FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Second annual Summer Solstice Celebration mixes last year’s favourites with new activities June 15, 2015, Squamish, BC – Summer is here and the Sea to Sky Gondola is getting ready to celebrate with an action packed program for its annual Summer Solstice event. Friday, June 19th is the kick off of the popular Friday Sunset Music Series, with an impressive music lineup featuring local musicians Cam Salay, Badgerchild with Alex Marusy Lovecoast and featured guest, Dustin Bentall. The music starts at 6pm at the Summit Lodge and everyone is welcome to enjoy a patio social, the picturesque view of the Howe Sound and local food and drink features. Guests are invited to come up early to enjoy the day in the great outdoors and evening musical festivities. That same day marks the opening of the new Squamish Via Ferrata tour operated by local adventure company Sea to Sky Guides. The new 1.5 hour tour promises to deliver a thrilling adventure to experienced or inexperienced climbers. On Saturday, June 20th the traditional summer solstice rituals will leave visitors inspired and energized, starting with morning and sunset yoga classes, the Mountain Equipment Co-Op Family Zone, lantern-making station and an magical evening Lantern Walk around the popular Panorama trail leading to the breathtaking Chief Viewing Platform.
