Sea to Sky Gondola Incident

05 February, 2014

An incident occurred Tuesday morning (February 4) involving a gondola cabin on our lift. A cabin came off the line during routine morning testing.

Doppelmayr, manufacturers of the lift, and the British Columbia Safety Authority are working with Sea to Sky Gondola staff to determine the exact nature and cause of this incident.

We have confirmed that no one was injured as a result of this incident. The project is currently under construction and as such, is not open to the general public.

The safety and well being of our employees and contractors is our first and highest priority. We will continue to take every precaution necessary to ensure the testing of the lift is completed in a safe and timely manner.

Construction and testing is continuing and we do not expect any delays to our planned opening in May 2014.
