Sea to Sky Gondola selects new General Manager

Squamish, BC, February 13, 2015 - The Sea to Sky Gondola is excited to announce that Kirby Brown has been selected as its new General Manager.

“We went through an exhaustive search that spanned the tourism industry in Canada and Kirby stood out as the best choice. We chose Kirby because he has demonstrated leadership capabilities, is a great fit with our professional team, and has a deep understanding of the tourism market in the Sea to Sky Corridor,” said Trevor Dunn, Sea to Sky Gondola’s Managing Partner.

Brown worked for many years at Whistler Blackcomb. Starting as a cleaner, he took on more and more responsibility until he was the Director, Experience Development and Delivery. From there Brown moved on to be the President and Chief Operating Officer at Panorama, Canada’s 4th largest four season resort.  For the last two years he has been the CEO of Whistler’s foremost activity company, The Adventure Group.

“We are happy that Kirby will lead the business into the future and build the Sea to Sky Gondola into one of the great tourism experiences in western Canada,” said Dunn.

“I’ve spent my career in tourism and this opportunity is a true gem. Squamish is one of the most beautiful areas on the planet and having such an exciting and successful new tourism attraction is an important addition for BC and the Sea to Sky Corridor. The team at the Sea To Sky Gondola is superb and together we are going to do some great things.  We’ll be waiting to see you at the top,” said Brown.

Brown begins his role as General Manager at the Sea to Sky Gondola on March 16th.
