September Construction Update
28 September, 2013
The long awaited steel for the gondola is arriving by the truckload at the base. Pieces for the top station are re-packaged and sent up on special trucks that are able to handle the steep gravel road. Even these specialized trucks require assistance to get up the hill, and are hooked up to a loader or rock truck to give it that extra bit of power to make it up with the load.
As the steel gets to the top it is immediately being installed. As you can see in the following image, the steel and first support tower for the top station is already in place.
Top Station Hardware and Mast Tire Bank being put into place
We have finished installing the support foundations for the 95 metre long and 65 metre high suspension bridge and hope to have the rest completed soon!
Anchors on other side of Suspension Bridge
We have finished pouring concrete for the Summit Lodge and are starting to transport locally milled Douglas Fir gluelams to the top. Altogether there will be over 700 Douglas Fir Beams of various sizes when the job is finished, with the very biggest measuring 70 feet long and 36 inches wide.

The foundations of the Summit Lodge have been completed as well as the foundations for the 9000 sq ft deck out front. The views will be amazing and it will be the perfect place to spend an evening with friends and family, perhaps even exchange vows!
We have installed underground water pipes for the arrival of a 60,000 gallon holding tank which will provide water for the project!
Installing water services
Bridges and viewing decks for our walking trails have been installed and are undergoing their final finishing and clean up. The viewing platforms are under construction. Spectacular overlooks that are not for the faint of heart. Expected completion of these features in October.
