Our Front of House Supervisors are leaders who work closely with our Food and Beverage Manager, Director, and team, to create amazing guest experiences. By developing, implementing, and maintaining quality standards for food service, you ensure adherence to Sea to Sky Gondola standards and a phenomenal experience for our guests.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Train and supervise team members for the efficient operation of the Food and Beverage department
Advance sustainability goals by supporting the development of effective waste reduction and sorting programs to increase employee and guest engagement
Give relevant and consistent coaching and feedback to team members to uphold Sea to Sky Gondola standards, including touchbacks, 1 to 1s and feedback
Conduct performance management of team members as required, including employee evaluations and disciplinary conversations
Facilitate special events in the Summit Lodge in coordination with the catering & events department
Ensure compliance with all Food Safe requirements through temperature checks, stock rotation and proper food practice
Ensure par stock levels are maintained by calculating inventory, and ordering from our suppliers accordingly
Remain calm and professional while dealing with guest complaints
Promote our culture of sustainability through ensuring adherence to our recycling and composting procedures
Assist front line staff and bartending staff as needed by providing direct service to guests, including, but not limited to, serving guests, bussing tables, seating guests and general clerical/cashier duties
Conduct daily and regular pre-shift meetings with the team and attend meetings as required
Promote safety awareness to associates and demonstrate that safe job performance is the number one priority and set a good safety example
Ensure compliance with Sea to Sky Gondola Occupational Health and Safety Program and the Regulation of WorkSafeBC
Ensure associates report any unsafe conditions, practices, or injuries as soon as possible and take appropriate actions
Support the Food and Beverage Manager in hiring by conducting interviews and completing reference checks
Schedule team members for different outlets and ensure all business times and levels are staffed adequately
Analyze daily business needs and labor needs, call people in or off as necessary
Knowledge of liquor and food regulations to ensure compliance with all requirements
Actively lead shifts, in support of senior leadership team members while helping to manage budgetary goals
Plan and execute our upselling program, encourage staff to reach daily and weekly targets
Work with the Food and Beverage Manager on staff engagement and appreciation programs
Perform other duties as requested by the Food and Beverage Manager, Director, and other team members as required
Required Skills and Experience:
Serving it Right Certificate is mandatory
Must be at least 19 years of age
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a manager or Supervisor in a high-volume F&B environment
Must be able to build and maintain credibility and relationships with customers (internal and external)
Must have strong communication skills and lead a team with a mature, friendly and professional attitude
Good attention to detail to encourage strong organization and planning skills
Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Publisher)
Working knowledge of RTP POS is an asset
Previous POS understanding
Experience working as a bartender and can work behind a fast-paced bar
Proven ability in managing time is critical; must be able to plan and execute effectively and efficiently
Proven track record as a hands-on leader with great communication and problem-solving skills
Able to remain calm under pressure
Knowledge of food service techniques and cost controls
Passion for people and the outdoors
Food Safe Level 1 is an asset
Diploma or certificate in Hotel/Restaurant Management or the equivalent is an asset
Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 10 hours in length.
Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis
